The High School of Glasgow, New Build Extension
The project comprised the demolition of existing lobby and glazed canopy followed by the construction of a new entrance lobby and seminar facilities.
The new main entrance building provides seminar and interview rooms as well as a new reception area. The mono-pitch roof extends to form a welcoming canopy at the top of a new ramped access, and the building layout allows internal access and out of hours usage to the existing sports centre. The bronze finish canopy nosing and soffit reflects the existing colours of the sports hall roof, and the buff facing brick, matches existing wall finishes to harmonise the new with the old. Full height curtain wailings reveal the sloping ceilings within, producing a light and contemporary style to the prestigious new entrance space.
