University of Glasgow, Hetherington Building
The project consisted of the phased construction of a single storey library extension and the refurbishment of the existing three storey building together with mechanical and engineering works.
This included the installation of a new lift with access to all floors, remodelling of teaching and administration rooms, the installation of a kitchen in the existing buildings as well as new floor, wall and ceiling finishes and decoration.
The extension on Great George Street included earthworks, strip foundation, structural steelwork, floor slabbing and structural roof, electrical and mechanical works.
Roof works included new roof lights and all associated finishing and enabling works.
New zinc cladding was also added to the existing timber external wall panelling.
