From the beginning, Healthcare has helped sustain the year on year growth of akp. From an office refurbishment in Gartnavel Hospital in 1995, we now deliver complex clinical/medical installations, the latest of which is our work at Glasgow Royal Infirmary where we created a new Gynaecology Unit ,a £9.5m contract for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
Another significant major project was The Golden Jubilee National Hospital contract, a £7.2million project for The National Waiting Times Board ,which includes Intensive Care Units and Cath Labs. This work provided a 74 bed cardio- thoracic centre for the people of Scotland.
We are proud of our work with NHS Scotland and meeting the challenges of the changing face of Healthcare delivery. We are also very pleased to be involved in the new Frameworks Scotland /NFS Principal Supply Chain Partners Agreement,where we are a part of two successful Framework Consortia namely Morrison and also Robertson /Dawn Health. The fact that we are a nominated constructor in two of the winning five bids is, in itself ,testimony to the expertise we have built up in this important and challenging sector.
Through sixteen years’ delivery of over 300 projects in this demanding sector, our people have overcome the challenges of the intensely detailed project management of such work. In the process akp has gained an understanding and knowledge of environment, services, installations and products associated with the Healthcare market.
