The works included fully enclosed and sealed full height partitions under the approval of infection control.
Two Thoracic Wards were created to provide 74 new beds. The works include new partitions, doors, floor, wall and ceiling finishes, fitments, furniture, mechanical and electrical works including en-suite shower rooms, sanitary ware, medical gases, ventilation, air handling units, BMS, hot and cold water, drainage, heating, lighting, power, nurse call bedhead services, telephone, data, CCTV and access control.
In addition to this, the following works were completed -new 10 bed ICU and 4 bed ICU Extension, a Cardiac Transplant Unit, the extension of IS/Medical Records, the refurbishment of a Common Room and refurbishment of existing office to reinstate a library facility. New Car Parks and a helipad and access road were also provided.
