Inverclyde Royal Hospital - Audiology Unit

These projects had to take account of the audiology clinic requirements including an audiometric testing area, vestibular function test room and equipment stores.  The hearing Aid Centre including fitting room, device demo room, hearing aid and ear mould workshop.
The project team took measures to assist hard of hearing patients when attending the accommodation  which included adapting conventional telephones with volume controls and portable amplifiers, installing induction loops, providing a visual patient call system in the reception/main waiting area and reducing background noise by fitting carpets wherever possible.
Attention was taken to noise and sound attenuation measures such as finishing of rooms, double glazing and acoustically sealed door frames and jams.
