akp completed a competitive tender process via PCS and were awarded the fast track refurbishment of Charles Oakley Building.

Challenges relating to this project included the swift mobilisation period of only a few days. akp were awarded the contract on the Friday and by the Monday were mobilised and on site. Having built up a trusted database of supply chain and subcontract partners whom are available to call on and collaborate within time sensitive situations such as this, akp were able to ensure their supply chain were mobilised and fully prepared to begin work within a 48 hour period.

Works included; Asbestos removal, repairs to 100 No + steel frame windows which were to be made operable and painted internally. New partition walls throughout and new walls to form rooms in the lobby. Joiner-work to existing skirtings, facing, cills and doors. Renewal of a number of doors throughout and associated ironmongery. New carpets and vinyls. Repairs and renewal where applicable of ceiling times and grids. Roller blinds on all 100 No + windows were checked and repairs or renewals completed as applicable.
