So far 2017 has been a great success with our focus and commitment to community involvement.

Last month, in conjunction with Hampden Park and the Scottish Football Museum, we arranged for 2 local primary schools to meet us at Hampden for a tour of our national stadium and access to the football museum to allow them an insight into the sports’ history. These school trips were specially selected to marry with the curriculum for excellence, after learning that the primary children were currently working on a relevant school project relating to “Glasgow – the divided city”.

The response and feedback from the schools and children was immense and all thoroughly enjoyed their day, as well taking home an akp goodie bag.

We, at akp, feel community involvement is a vital part of the Construction, Refurbishment and Fit Out contracts we deliver.

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility Pledge we try to collaborate with stakeholders & communities, reinvest in the future workforce and take a forward thinking approach.

Our Community Benefits team are continually looking for new initiatives, fundraising methods and volunteering opportunities where akp can make a difference.

Our next initiative will involve the akp team participating in Glasgow Kiltwalk 2017. All funds raised will go to the 12th Kingcase Scouts Group in Prestwick, as part of the community benefits initiatives we are delivering relating to the Refurbishment of Kingcase Primary School which akp Scotland are Principal Contractor on for client South Ayrshire Council.
