akp were awarded the contract to carry out a ground floor office defurbishment and refurbishment of the reception and common areas to Holyrood Park House which is next door to the Scottish Parliament Building.
The accommodation comprises 47,000 sq ft split over five floors providing high quality flexible open plan office floorplates benefiting from dramatic views to Holyrood Road and the parliament from the front and Holyrood Park from the rear.
Works included the alteration of the entrance from reception to the ground floor suites (North and South). The south suite is occupied and the North Suite was vacant and has been partially stripped out. Included in the works was a formation of a bulkhead, installation of new lighting and the completion of the strip-out of other named services.
The Main Building Reception were refurbished and new bespoke joinery installed. The WC’s were also decorated and refurbished. There was additional bespoke joinery, ceiling fixtures and wall art also included in the contact.

The Operations and Commercial teams have been excellent throughout and have been very supportive and proactive in their approach. I would like to especially thank Project Manager John for his efforts over the last couple of weeks, which were difficult at times for reasons out with his control, but he pulled a lot of rabbits out of the hat and got us over the line. Yet again, thank you for all your efforts and hopefully I get the opportunity to work with you all again in the near future.
