akp are excited to announce that work is well underway on the extensive refurbishment of Aspect House, Blantyre for our client Scottish Power.
The overhaul of the 65,000 square foot building, which up until early 2020 housed circa 800 Staff, when complete will allow the Scottish Power team an enhanced flexible working environment, more aligned to the commercial spaces seen in most city centre offices today.
This fresh open plan use of space can be attributed to a range of employee and employer benefits, including increases in employee comfort, well-being, and productivity, which ultimately result in better business.
Works incorporate but are not limited to, the full refurbishment of the office block over Basement, Ground, 1st, 2nd & 3rd floors. Replacing roof plant, new services distribution and the overhaul of all the lift cars.
The office floors including common areas and restrooms are being fully refurbished on a planned floor by floor basis, allowing new services to be installed throughout and creating new offices on all floors.
The ground floor entrance is undergoing significant alterations to incorporate a bright fresh space with new offices and auditorium being created on the ground floor alongside an augmented servery in the onsite canteen.
akp Scotland Managing Director Martin McColl commented; “It’s fantastic to be undertaking this extensive refurbishment for Scottish Power. The akp team committed many hours tendering and value engineering the project to arrive at a place that the client was happy with. So, to finally be on site and for work to commence is fantastic! We are of course looking forward to working alongside; Graham & Sibbald and Clancy Consulting to deliver the project.”
